Audio Amigo’s Omar approaches the MP145 PRO as a different take on the original, with a leaner, cleaner and brighter presentation that places greater emphasis on technical performance. He particularly values its very good resolution and excellent perceived 3D soundstage, while the upgraded accessories and redesigned nozzles further distinguish the PRO from its predecessor.

Accessories Receive a Meaningful Upgrade

At the $170 price stated when the video was recorded, Omar considers the accessories substantially improved. The former pouch has been replaced by a protective carry case, while the new modular cable includes 3.5mm and 4.4mm connectors. Additional Anemone ear tips join the existing tip choices.

He finds the cable easier to manage and well executed, although he would prefer a screw-secured modular connection and does not like the slightly off-center chin slider.

Smaller Nozzles, Still Enormous Shells

The aluminum shells remain essentially the same large design as before. The redesigned nozzles are narrower, which Omar sees as an ergonomic improvement.

For his own large ears, the MP145 PRO remains comfortable for listening. His wife, however, rated it poorly in his “tiny ear test.” Although she could initially create a seal, the shell size and weight caused it to fail quickly. Omar therefore considers the unchanged shell dimensions a missed opportunity for people with smaller ears.

Red Nozzles Shape His Sound Impressions

Omar prefers the red nozzle, finding female-vocal harmonics more natural than with the other options. His sound assessment is therefore based primarily on this configuration.

He hears controlled, fast and responsive bass with good punch, but less texture and energy than he expected. The mids are somewhat recessed in his experience, and certain instruments can lack weight.

Treble is brighter and more energetic. Omar warns that vocals can approach sibilance and some percussion can sound sharp, especially for listeners sensitive to lower or mid-treble. He recommends careful volume levels and prefers the red nozzles for reducing this concern.

Technical performance is a stronger point. He considers resolution very good and describes the perceived 3D soundstage as excellent, with solid imaging, width and depth. He repeatedly emphasizes that these soundstage impressions reflect his own ears and test tracks.

Overall Assessment

It best suits listeners prioritizing expansive perceived 3D staging, high resolution and restrained bass. Those with smaller ears, treble sensitivity, or preferences for warmer tuning, fuller mids and stronger bass may find it less suitable.
